New at Dryad: We’re recruiting a Partner Accounts Manager (Remote)

Dryad is seeking a Partner Accounts Manager to support the global community of institutions, publishing organisations and academic societies relying on our world-class service for data publishing and help achieve our vision for open data to help drive the translation of research into benefits for society.

The successful candidate will have experience in community-facing roles and be deeply familiar with the journal publishing process. 

Job description

The Partner Accounts Manager is responsible for delivering top-notch service and support to Dryad Partners and advocating for Partner needs within Dryad. This role occupies a central position within Dryad, serving as a conduit between Dryad and the Partner community and ensuring our evolving, shared knowledge base is correct and current. This position reports to the Head of Partnership Development.

Responsibilities

  1. Partner service and support – Contribute to high Partner service satisfaction by: Ensuring smooth on-boarding; Providing timely responses to Partner enquiries; Designing and implementing training & outreach programmes; Maintaining strong and regular Partner communications; Encouraging submission growth; Representing Dryad at Partner events
  2. Partner advocacy – Ensure Partner perspectives are heard across Dryad by: Designing processes to channel Partner feedback on prospective feature and service developments;  gauging and monitoring partner satisfaction with Dryad services; keeping Dryad teams apprised on Partner movements; serving as an expert resource to colleagues on Dryad’s Partner program and fees
  3. Partner recruitment – Provide support to colleagues responsible for recruiting new Partners to Dryad, with desk research, activity reports, contract and invoice requests and other tasks as needed. Also oversee Partner off-boarding
  4. Integration management – Maintain strong relationships with service providers, preprint servers and peer review/publishing systems (current integrations); support the development of new integrations; contribute to integration workflow design and implementation; ensure strong internal communication around integration management
  5. Documentation and records – Ensure Partner records (in systems such as Dryad, Salesforce and Trello) are complete, accurate and up-to-date
  6. Marketing support – Collaborate with Communications colleagues on blogs, public announcements, campaigns to Partners, submission drives and more.
  7. Contribute to other projects as needed and appropriate 

Skills and qualifications

Dryad’s Partner Accounts Manager is:

  • A skilled customer service liaison, with a track record in publishing, author service, or other forms of direct support in scholarly communication
  • An expert in academic publishing and institutional processes and platforms (such as Editorial Manager, eJournal Press, CRIS systems)
  • Self-driven, proactive, and capable of independently identifying and taking ownership of initiatives within the scope of this role
  • An excellent communicator—both written and verbal—skilled at adapting their tone, style, and approach to effectively connect with diverse audiences they engage with
  • A professional who approaches opportunities, challenges and decision-making with a strong customer-centric mindset

They also:

  • Possess at least seven years’ full-time (or equivalent) experience in academic publishing, including community-facing work, or an equivalent combination of relevant training and experience 
  • Are educated to degree level or with equivalent professional experience

Compensation and benefits

This is a remote position requiring a minimum of 32 hours per week and up to five hours per day in U.S. timezones. Base salary (full-time equivalent): $55,000 – 70,000/£33,000 – 45,000, depending on experience.
