Dryad is grateful to have received unrestricted financial support from individuals and organizations who share our belief that Open Data can fuel more rapid and collaborative science, and enhance reproducibility and trust. Access to these flexible funds give us valuable space to experiment and grow as well as to cover the costs of operation when needed.
The importance of your contributions
Dryad relies on partnerships with institutions, publishers, academic societies and independent research organizations, as well as unsponsored individuals, to thrive. As a non-profit organization, all our fees are set on a cost recovery basis; we charge only what it takes to curate, publish, and preserve data, and keep our organization running strong for the long term.
Additional contributions (tax-deductible in the US) from supporters who share our vision add something else: the flexibility to innovate, experiment, and drive progress in Open Data. Now, we’re formalizing that income stream with a new supporters program.
We believe that the open availability and routine reuse of research data contribute to a scholarly research system that is more rapid, more reproducible and transparent, and more trustworthy. We are both inspired by, and enormously grateful for, your support of that vision.
Thank you to our supporters
Dryad has enjoyed many types of unrestricted support and donations over the years.
We wish to thank our current and former direct supporters. Cambridge University Press and the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) (now also a Dryad partner) have both contributed generously over many years. We also wish to thank several supporters who prefer to remain anonymous.
Since 2022, Dryad has been recognized by SCOSS as providing essential international Open Science infrastructure. During that time, many institutions have chosen to invest in Dryad through the SCOSS program. We are grateful to:
