Dryad welcomes new partners and builds on existing relationships

As we begin the new year, we’re excited to welcome new partners to Dryad, and to celebrate expanding the scope of some of our longstanding partnerships.

Institutions, publishers, academic societies and other organizations around the world partner with Dryad to sponsor data publication services for their researchers. Researchers choose Dryad for our streamlined, easy-to-use system, curatorial checks, and hands-on user support. Partners value the time savings, convenience, and piece of mind that Dryad provides. Partnering with Dryad is a simple way to support research integrity and trust, ensure compliance with funder and publisher data policies, and maximize the impact by opening opportunities for discovery and dataset reuse.

“Our partners commit not only to the quality of service we offer their affiliated researchers, but also to our shared values and vision for open data to drive solutions for all .” Jennifer Gibson, Dryad

New to our partner community in 2026 are the American Finance Association (AFA) and the University of Tennessee, Knoxville

Of the partnership, Brianne Dosch, Associate Professor & Head of Data and Digital Scholarship at the University of Tennessee said, “UT Libraries is excited to offer this resource to our researchers as it: covers all deposit fees, removing financial barriers for researchers, streamlines the process with a clean, user-friendly interface and strong user support, and positions UT Libraries as a leader in open data and research support.”

We’re also pleased to expand our partnership with longstanding partners Canadian Science Publishing (CSP) and the Ecological Society of America (ESA) to include more sponsored journals. Their decision to extend Dryad data publishing support to a broader range of publications is a direct reflection of their experience working with Dryad, and their editorial and organizational commitment to increase data sharing.

“This is a great way to increase the impact of research and to maximize societal benefit.” – Natasha McDonald, CSP

“We feel that this is a great way to increase the impact of research and to maximize societal benefit,” said Natasha McDonald, CSP’s Director of Peer Review, during an interview in the autumn.

“ESA is delighted to expand our long-standing partnership with Dryad so that authors publishing in any of our journals can utilize Dryad’s data curation and sharing services at no cost to them. Dryad has played a critical role in advancing FAIR data practices, and we are pleased to continue working together to support open science,” said Adrienne Sponberg, Director of Publishing for ESA.

The importance of partnership

“Our partners commit not only to the quality of service we offer their affiliated researchers, but also to our shared values and vision for open data to drive solutions for all ,” said Jennifer Gibson, Dryad’s executive director.

Foundational open research infrastructure like Dryad is often taken for granted. Focus naturally defaults to the valuable datasets we house, rather than the tools we use to curate, publish, and preserve them. But developing and maintaining scholarly infrastructure takes resources. Dryad partners play a vital role in keeping our organization strong and resilient, while ensuring our services remain accessible and affordable to researchers over the long term.

We’re so grateful to all our partners for choosing to work with us. When we all pull together, we can build toward a future in which open and reusable research data contributes to strong science, trusted results are trusted, and rapid progress. Thank you!
