Dryad in the community: Why we all need good funding metadata

Consistent, transparent, machine-readable funding metadata supports research integrity and helps funders gauge their impact. Learn about how and why Dryad incorporates funding metadata using the Research Organization Registry (ROR) in this event recording.

As one of the earliest ROR implementers, Dryad has been using ROR ids for researcher affiliations since 2019 and recently adopted ROR to identify funders as well. In this recording, you’ll hear from Dryad’s Head of Community Engagement, Sarah Lippincott, and other industry experts, about how incorporating funder metadata improves research integrity and transparency, aids discovery, and gives funders insight into the impact of the projects they sponsor.

For more on how ROR ids and other persistent identifiers help connect data to its creators, funders, and associated research outputs, see our blog post For authors: What are PIDs and how do they amplify your data’s impact?.
